How Many Times....
How many times has your kid rolled down the stairs?
How many times have you taken your eyes off your kid for one second and they do something so mortifying? So mortifying that it is BEYOND the moty nomination....it's not even funny!
How many times have they shoved multiple grapes in their mouths?
How many times have they put things that aren't supposed to be in their mouths, in their mouths?
And the poor second child....I feel like Charlie gets the shaft. God forbid we have to give him any attention. Sam may just have a seizure. God knows what a third might do?!
AHHH--bad parenting day!

Injury Report AKA Mother of the Year entry #2/#3
If you ask him how it feels, he says, "So much better," in this pathetic, small voice. He took a dive off of the top of the slide. I really was gonna post these and say, "You should see Cole Wilson," but I thought better of that! Just because I didn't want CPS at my house! So this was on Friday night.
Then on Monday night he decided that he would roll off my bed, in between the bed and the nightstand and give himself a shiner on the same side! NICE!
Now Charlie has decided it would be a great time to ram his head into things like walls and banisters...fun times.
Goings Ons!
We got lots of it!
Happy birthday today to my friend Amy. We had a very nice lunch, that was kid and stress free at an awesome diner in Mebane. Where I am also excited to say, Tanger is opening outlets...including a JCrew! Anywho, I took Amy there so that she could have some gravy and cheese fries on her birthday. It was a surprise and Dana met us there! So glad that I could share the day with her!
Sam is crazy big and is quite the socialite. He has lots of friends in the neighborhood and has recently become quite close with Cole. They play Thomas together and it is adorable! And when they see each other outside, their little faces just light up! It is too cute. He is hating the camera and hiding each time I bring it out. This is what I get when I wanted him to sit next to Charlie so I could have a picture of the boys....and then just one picture of me and the boys....

He is so obliging, I know! Then you can practically hear the whine that is coming out of his mouth here.

Two is fun....the age not the number of children...well that too! Greg is ready for baby number three but I am waiting at LEAST until I can have one margarita. I feel like I have been dry for 3+ years! Give a sista a break! We are also starting potty training. Where do you learn to do this stuff? I'm pretty sure I skipped this class if they taught it anywhere and I could read 100 books and not be able to tell you a straight answer on this. Lord help us!
I also just got his preschool papers in the mail today. I have to fill them out and get his records over to them! He is officially going ya'll! Look out St. John's! Sam has become a chatter box and the running commentary is great. It is so sweet to just listen to him play. It is adorable.
My boys are growing up and I hate it.
Charlie already has a tat.

Look at that shit eating grin and that hair (It just keeps growing straight up)! He is such a bad ass. I think if they had a model baby it would be him...minus the projectile reflux. He is army crawling like a mad man and is regular crawling too, just not as much! I can't believe that he is 9 months already. We go for his appointment tomorrow so I'll check in with weight and all the good info this weekend.
We can't wait to see my mom this weekend, even though it is supposed to be poopy, I think Aunt Sarah and Aunt Katie are also stopping by! YEAH! Helpers!

SFD, What a Start to the Day!
I swear Ana, this is all because of you!
This all started yesterday morning when Sam brought me an almost empty gallon of milk while I was still in bed saying, "Milkies please." After the plastic felt strange on my head I realized what it was! So I jumped up and got him some milk. Fast forward to today. Sam crawled into bed with me shortly after Greg left for Charlotte at 5:45 am. Then Charlie got up around 6:30. So I fed him, put him back down and headed back to my room to watch my very rambunctious 2 year old sleep....peacefully and QUIETLY, minus the snoring. So I dozed of and all of a sudden I thought to myself, wow, the milk is full...I wonder if he will try it again this morning? Then I dozed into a very strange dream of Barry Manilow and the figure skater on dancing with the stars opening a gift store and carrying a line of Two's Company....anywho....then I heard, "I spilt it, I spilt it." I know this is misspelled but that is how he says it!
I knew EXACTLY what he had spilled and how big of a mess that was waiting for me downstairs....insert wha, wah noise here. SOOOO, I threw down about a dozen hand towels to clean up the almost gallon of milk that was on the kitchen floor, rug, cabinets (that I JUST scrubbed this past weekend) and the inside of the fridge. So I throw the rug outside. Wipe up giant puddle, pull out the fridge, clean under there and then wipe out the fridge. I also poured the remainder of the milk into a pitcher since the lid went MIA. Insert deep breath. I then pour Sam a glass of said milk and pour myself a cup of coffee. OK--hurdle #1 attacked!
So goes my day. I finish my cup of coffee, and I go to throw the milky towels into the wash when Charlie wakes up. OK--I haven't had a shower in quite sometime so I change him and put up the gate to take a shower.....Charlie has learned to crawl, hence the gate. So I am showering when I hear Samuel SCREAMING...so naked I run out of the shower and see him standing on the stairs saying, "Gate down, NOW!" Not funny. So I finish my shower and get dressed. I take Charlie downstairs and start sweeping the floor so I can mop it b/c of hurdle #1. Sam then needs a diaper change. So I run upstairs to change his dipe and come down to find Charlie has crawled or scootched himself over to the pile of dust bunnies and crumbs and has started to eat them....So I run over to scrape the fuzz out of his mouth, move him and go running for our tiny vacuum for downstairs and when I grab it the canister falls open and all the dirt, dust and crumbs go flying all over the dining room and in the play-doh box. SFD. Who did I piss off? I just started to laugh. It was a cosmic disaster in my house.
So there I was with a dust filled dining room, a dust filled child and Sam, drinking his milk and wanting me to hurry up to change the channel.
Back to bed I want to go. Oh, did I mention that Greg is leaving for 4 days....thanks! Oh, and my email isn't working and I had to set up quickbooks for a neighbor who just had twins, for an office that she is leaving that didn't have the updated version!
I will post the number for the insane asylum later today.

Mother's Day
What a day I had on Sunday. I can't tell you how fortunate I feel to have married such a sweet man. I guess he really pushed and pushed until he got me to visit him in AZ, so it really is all his doing! He gets the credit...for once.
I woke up at 8:40am! That is like sleeping WAAAAY in for me. All the boys were playing nicely and helping Greg with getting an amazing breakfast set up for me! Casa De Kastendike, the restaurant, was in full swing when I got downstairs. There was steaming hot French pressed Pumpkin Spice coffee waiting for me along with a gorgeous spread of fresh fruit and breads (with fresh croissants) and a tall glass of orange juice. I had a full menu to choose my breakfast from! He was prepared ya'll....with prep cups full of chopped veggies and everything!!! It looked unbelievable....too good to be true. Some of my choices for breakfast included, blueberry and/or chocolate chip pancakes, breakfast burrito, hot or cold cereals (all of which were listed, correctly, on the menu), French toast, omelet with choice of add-ins and all the a la carte items that I wanted!
I chose the breakfast burrito, hash browns and a short stack of pancakes! You know I like a little bit of everything! It was fabulous! I had a hot meal that I a. didn't have to make and b. didn't have to clean up. I finished eating and went directly upstairs to take a nice long hot shower and it was so relaxing knowing that someone else was taking care of it!
I had previously signed up to host coffee hour at church...not realizing that it was Mother's Day...duh! So I took my two GIANT boxes of cupcakes and hosted coffee hour with another mom, Kathryn, whose daughter was baptized the same day as Charlie...we were hosting in honor of the baptism.
Then I went to Wal-Mart and picked up some acetone, gasoline, a squirt bottle and a tomato plant. Dirty bomb anyone? I made it home and watered plants, snuggled with Samuel and had some very deserved quality time with my husband. He kick my ass at cornhole all afternoon. I have lost my mojo?!
Hope everyone had a fantastic Mother's Day! I know I did! And at the end of the day, you know what I thought to myself....."Wow, it must really be nice to be a man."

Busy Weekend
It was hotter then Hades this weekend here and the boys went crazy. Greg and Sam played in the sprinkler and had a blast. I stayed inside with snotty nosed Charlie. I think he is cutting more teeth.
Greg and I also purged our closet! Plus and Minus. I get depressed because I can't fit into a damn thing but Greg feels great. Like all of his clothes are new again! ARG--why is that?
I am off to do a demo for Girl Scouts tonight! Tee Hee! Wish me luck!
